Town of McCordsville recently issued the following announcement.
For the past 10 years the Town of McCordsville has hosted a Christmas Tree Lighting event to kick off the season. Last year's event was virtual. This year, the McCordsville Park Board again cordially invites you to join in the fun as we welcome the holiday season on Dec. 1 from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. However, this event will be a bit different this year (but still fun and merry.) The entire event will be outside and socially distanced. Our musical guests (the McCordsville Elementary School Choir and the MV Middle School Band) will be performing in the park shelter at Town Hall. A special "elf" will flip the switch to light the tree and we will still have hot chocolate and cookies and some craft kits to take home. The Man in Red will be making an appearance there, too.
